Maggie & Muffin Ullery
Welcome to "The Cora Needham House" web
site. I hope you will enjoy becoming familiar with my home, the
many attractions, and events in this area, and our philosophy of
hospitality. I hope you'll want to make us your "home away
from home".
Having always
been a "people person", it came as no surprise to friends and family
when, following retirement from a lengthy teaching career, I decided to convert
my home into a "B & B". Hostessing such a diverse
group of guests from all over the world, makes me a very "happy
camper".
Conversation, laughter, life stories, and group therapy abound
among guests, and I always play an active role. Long term friendships
are made, and I feel as if I have an extended family.
My passions in life are varied, but creatively centered, and include:
music of all kinds: piano
, and voice teacher; 30 years as a general music teacher; NYC Opera & Oratorio
career; church soloist, Master's degree studies in voice, and
dramatics at "The Juilliard School of Music";
Doctoral studies at the University of Massachusetts in musicology
and voice; choral conducting; summer musical theatre director; concert;
opera, and theatre junky; art lover, and collector;
resulting in miniature art galleries in every room of the "B&B";
art history background, and museum junky; interior
decorating with my own business "Eclectic
Interiors"; Wedding Planner having
done Weddings both at The Cora Needham House, and Rose
Cliff Mansion in Newport; RI! Gardening,
and garden design; evidenced
at The Cora Needham House; literature, and writing; having
worked at McGraw-Hill Publishers in NYC as an Editorial Assistant;
extensive travel; my favorite trip being to Russia
as a teacher; amateur photography; especially
recording guest visits; in the
sports arena: swimming, and tennis instructor;
biking; walking, and hiking; and saving the best for last; MOM to
three great kids; two daughters; a son, and my great cat companion; Muffin;
who's a people lover too.
I think you will find my home relaxing, romantic,
colorful, cozy, elegant, unique, comfortable, and welcoming.
It's with the greatest enthusiasm, and excitement that I await
your arrival. Each one of you is special to me, and I will do
everything in my power to accommodate your needs.
